Root canals, gum disease xrays and general treatments
No matter how careful you are with your dental hygiene there may come a time when our dentist advises that a seriously decayed tooth needs to be removed or perhaps a tooth is crowding the natural growth of other teeth.
Whatever the cause an extraction is surprisingly free of pain and our dentist will remove the teeth within minutes of introducing a local anaesthetic.
Once the tooth has been extracted you will be given a small piece of gauze to hold over the extracted area. You are advised to be carefull about taking food for about 4 hours and to avoid hot or cold drinks for a few days until the area has healed over.
If you wear dentures Ailsa or our dentist will take an impression of your teeth and add another tooth to your denture.
Note extractions can be the result of tooth ache – don’t wait instead phone us immediately during office hours 01372-377678 or after hours 07815-898839.
